REFLECTION
My reflection on the Architecture History and Theory module.
Dr. Filzani Illia
Module Coordinator
Due to her kind and sympathetic demeanour, Dr. Filzani Illia was a huge assistance to me throughout my first semester of studying architecture. She is always ready to lend a hand and offer advice to students in order to lessen their problems and workload.
Mr. Nicholas Ng
Tutor
I always get more knowledge and information about a subject from Mr. Nicholas Ng, who is a highly informed educator. He is very direct yet kind while offering criticism, which made learning with him enjoyable.
Self Reflection and Overall Experience
I was able to fully immerse myself in the various architectural eras and examine the history behind them thanks to the Architecture History and Theory module. It enabled me to see how architecture has changed over time and to identify the key characteristics and elements that help to identify each building and the era to which it belongs. I found this module to be the most enjoyable because I not only enjoyed learning about the history of architecture but also enhance my architecture analysis skills. With this module being conducted fully online compared to the rest of the modules I had for this semester, it allowed me to slowly transition from online to physical classes which I'm grateful for.
TGC Reflection
-
Lifelong Learning: For this module, I learnt to locate and extract pieces of information from lecture and tutorial recordings and utilise them to solve the questions or obstacles that I faced while doing my assignments.
-
Thinking and Problem Solving Skills: I used my critical and creative thinking skills to come up with ideas and to solve any problems I faced while working on the assignments.
-
Intrapersonal Skills: Most of the assigned tasks required me to be self-reliant and work independently. This enabled me to reflect on my past mistakes and ways I did my previous assignments which allowed me to gain interpersonal skills.
