REFLECTION
My reflection on the Design Communication module.
Dr. Filzani Illia
Module Coordinator and Tutor
Due to her kind and sympathetic demeanour, Dr. Filzani Illia was a huge assistance to me throughout my first semester of studying architecture. She is always ready to lend a hand and offer advice to students in order to lessen their problems and workload.
Self Reflection and Overall Experience
This module taught me a lot of new concepts that I had never known before, like the different technical drawings: orthographic, axonometric, one-point perspective, and two-point perspective drawings. Not only did this module introduce me to these technical drawings, it also took me back to the fundamentals, allowing me to refine abilities that I will carry with me throughout my life, such hatching, line weights, and architecture lettering. For my orthographic drawings, I also had the opportunity to study and experiment with AutoCAD, which was a wonderful experience and gave me a useful ability that would aid me on my architecture journey. While the physical tutorials allowed me to engage with my professors and peers, which made the class enjoyable, the online lectures proved to be very helpful and really benefited me with my tasks.
TGC Reflection
-
Lifelong Learning: For this module, I learnt to locate and extract pieces of information from lecture and tutorial recordings and utilise them to solve the questions or obstacles that I faced while doing my assignments.
-
Intrapersonal Skills: Certain parts of assigned tasks required me to be self-reliant and work independently. This enabled me to reflect on my past mistakes and ways I did my previous assignments which allowed me to gain interpersonal skills.
-
Communication Skills: When I was stuck with a certain task, I had to communicate effectively with my peers and tutors which allowed me to gain communication skills.
